Fallon Jokes on Trump-Putin Call: 'Unwinnable War'

Jimmy Fallon mused on what went down when a couple of power-hungry pals reconnected Wednesday.

“The Tonight Show” host noted that President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone chat that included at least one remarkable nicety.

“There was a cute moment during the call when they both said, ’How’s your unwinnable war going? Jinx!”

Fallon waited a moment for the zinger to sink in.

The two leaders actually did discuss their wars, which they both started to widespread condemnation.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is now 4 years old and running, while the U.S. conflict in Iran is about 2 months old.

Russia is facing difficulty in Ukraine’s Donbas region and drone attacks at home, Politico reported Wednesday. Meanwhile, a resolution to the United States’ conflict with Iran appears to have hit an impasse amid a ceasefire, according to Reuters. Iran is still blocking the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping channel, and the U.S. has initiated a naval blockade of Iran’s oil exports.

The developments are keeping costs high and Trump’s popularity low.
