A 30-year-old Saskatoon man was threatened with a hatchet and robbed in the early hours of July 1, 2026, according to the Saskatoon Police Service. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Avenue Q South.

Details of the Robbery

Police say the victim was approached by two male suspects. One of them brandished a hatchet and demanded money. The victim complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash and his cellphone. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.

The victim was not physically injured during the encounter. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

Suspect Descriptions and Police Appeal

Police have released limited descriptions of the suspects. The first suspect is described as a male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants. The second suspect is also described as a male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a light-coloured hoodie and jeans.
