Community Impact
Canada Road Safety Week is an annual campaign coordinated by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. It focuses on the most dangerous driving behaviors, including impaired driving, aggressive driving, and lack of seatbelt use. Ottawa police spokesperson said the high number of charges reflects ongoing challenges with driver compliance.
The OPP also participated in the blitz, contributing to the total charges. Authorities remind motorists to obey speed limits, avoid distractions, and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Road safety remains a top priority for law enforcement agencies across the province.
