Mother's Emotional Appeal for Missing Daughter
Shira and Joseph, the parents of 14-year-old Esther, made an emotional plea on Tuesday at Earl Bales Park, the same location where their daughter was last seen on Friday night at 11:30 p.m. The couple urged their daughter, whom they call Esti, to come home, assuring her she is not in trouble.
"Esti, my love, if you are watching this, please come home," her mother said. "We love you so much and we miss you terribly. Your family here, across the country, and around the world are searching and praying for you every minute."
Search Efforts Intensify
Toronto Police Duty Insp. Peter Wallace confirmed that the area has been thoroughly searched with no sign of the girl, described as "vulnerable." Drones, mounted units, and marine units have been deployed in the search. Volunteers from Shomrim Canada have also been assisting, distributing missing posters and scouring the wooded park over the Victoria Day weekend.
Esti left her home without her cellphone and has not contacted anyone. She is described as 5-foot-2, wearing a green sweater and gray pants, and it is unclear if she is still wearing shoes.
Community Rallies
Shira described her daughter as "an incredibly kind, social, and trusting girl" who talks to everyone. She urged the public to check security cameras, doorbell cameras, and dashcam footage from Friday night onward. "Even a few seconds of footage could help police trace Esti's movements and bring her home safely," she said.
The mother added, "As a mother, there is no pain worse than not knowing where your child is or whether she is safe. Please help us bring our daughter home."
