A man has died after falling from an escalator at Empress Walk mall in North York on Thursday afternoon, Toronto police confirmed.

Emergency services responded to the mall, located near Yonge Street and Empress Avenue, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 25, 2026. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have classified the incident as an industrial accident and are investigating the circumstances.
