A man has died after being struck by a semi-trailer truck on Highway 16 near North Battleford, Saskatchewan, according to RCMP. The incident occurred on July 10, 2026, at approximately 1:27 PM EDT. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the victim with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a commercial vehicle on Highway 16, a major route connecting North Battleford to other parts of the province. The driver of the semi remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time,” said RCMP Corporal Marie Johnson in a statement. “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and ask anyone with information to come forward.”

The RCMP’s collision reconstruction team has been deployed to analyze the scene. Highway 16 was closed for several hours as investigators gathered evidence, but it has since reopened.
