A Guelph man has been charged following a string of property damage incidents in the city's west end, according to police.
Details of the incidents
The Guelph Police Service reported that between June 20 and June 24, 2026, several properties in the west end were vandalized. The damage included broken windows, graffiti, and other destruction.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man on June 24. He faces charges of mischief under $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments. He was held for a bail hearing.
Investigation and community impact
Investigators believe the incidents were targeted but have not disclosed a motive. Residents expressed concern about the damage, which affected homes and businesses.
“We are relieved that an arrest has been made,” said a local business owner who wished to remain anonymous. “This has been a stressful week for our neighborhood.”
