Crews from Regina Fire & Protective Services and SaskEnergy responded to a natural gas leak at a home on Dewdney Avenue Thursday morning, prompting evacuations in the area.
Response and safety measures
According to officials, the leak was reported around 7:00 AM local time. Fire crews arrived on scene and immediately began evacuating nearby residents as a precaution. SaskEnergy personnel were also dispatched to isolate the gas supply and repair the leak.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the leak is under investigation. Residents were allowed to return to their homes after the situation was deemed safe.
