Sunny skies returned to the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth on Tuesday, July 7, with more sunshine expected throughout the day. Environment Canada forecasts a high of 28 C, prompting officials to recommend sunscreen and use of indoor cooling spots or misting stations on the Stampede grounds.

Free Admission and Community Day

Everyone is invited to enjoy free admission into Stampede Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for TC Energy Community Day. Seniors (65+) and military veterans receive free admission all day, plus free coffee and donuts in the BMO Plaza until 11 a.m.

Stampede Powwow and Attendance

Monday's headlining event was the annual Stampede Powwow at the Scotiabank Saddledome, featuring hundreds of Indigenous dancers and eight drum groups. One drummer highlighted the “camaraderie of us being together.” Monday's daily attendance was 100,977, bringing total Stampede attendance to 591,983 so far.

Noise Complaints Under Review

The City of Calgary shared early noise complaint data on Monday, including an under-review ticket given to one festival. Noise at concerts around the city was a major talking point in the lead-up to Stampede.

Music Picks for July 7

On the grounds: Deadmau5 performs on the Coca-Cola Stage at 9:30 p.m. The Grammy and Juno-nominated DJ and producer is known for his elaborate Mau5head helmet and energetic live shows. Earlier this year, he released Science with Stevie Appleton, his first official release in a decade.

Off the grounds: Chad Brownlee plays at the National Saloon. The former hockey player turned country star’s single Legendary blends bro-country with hard rock influences, fitting the Stampede’s genre-diverse music programming.

Rangeland Derby and Other Events
