A Barrie man has died following a single-vehicle collision in Orangeville on July 2, 2026, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The incident occurred on Highway 10 near Broadway at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Details of the collision
The OPP responded to reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Barrie, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles or passengers were involved.
Police have not released the victim's name pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, but officers have stated that speed may have been a factor.
Investigation underway
The OPP's Technical Collision Investigation unit has been deployed to reconstruct the scene. Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
