According to official reports from Peel Regional Police, officers were dispatched to 1310 Dundas Street East, situated just west of Dixie Road, shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday. The call indicated an assault with a weapon was in progress, prompting an immediate emergency response to the commercial plaza.
Constable Tyler Bell of Peel Regional Police provided details to media outlets, stating that upon arrival, officers discovered a woman suffering from what he described as "severe traumatic injuries." Despite rapid medical intervention, the victim succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Suspect Apprehended Following Foot Chase
The investigation took a significant turn when police, with assistance from a bystander, engaged in a brief foot pursuit that led to the arrest of a male suspect in his 50s.
