Two Vehicles Sought in Fatal Toronto Hit-and-Run

Toronto Police have launched a public appeal for information following a fatal hit-and-run collision in the city's midtown area that claimed the life of a female pedestrian.

Deadly Morning Collision

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Dunfield Avenue at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The call was for reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries. Tragically, she did not survive her injuries.

Suspect Vehicles Flee the Scene

Investigators have confirmed that two suspect vehicles fled the scene immediately after the collision. Police are urgently seeking the public's help to locate them.

The first vehicle is described as possibly being a white SUV. Authorities note it may have front-end damage. This vehicle was last seen travelling westbound on Eglinton Avenue.

Details on the second vehicle are currently limited. Police have stated its description is unknown at this time. It was last seen travelling eastbound on Eglinton Avenue following the incident.

Road Closures and Investigation

To facilitate a thorough investigation, Toronto Police have closed a section of Eglinton Avenue. The closure affects both vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Yonge Street and Lillian Street.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, or has any information that could assist investigators is strongly urged to come forward.
