Montreal police have made two arrests in connection with a violent attack last month that left a 12-year-old boy with serious stab wounds. The suspects, identified as Rayan Zackary Rahmani, 19, and a 17-year-old minor, were taken into custody this past Wednesday.
Swift Police Action and Arrests
The investigation stems from an incident on the evening of November 18. According to authorities, patrol officers were in the area of Barclay and Victoria Avenues in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough when they were approached by the injured child around 6:30 p.m. The boy collapsed, and officers provided immediate first aid to control the bleeding from his wounds.
Police stated that information provided by witnesses was crucial in locating and apprehending the two suspects. Rahmani appeared in Quebec Court on Thursday, December 18, charged with attempted murder. The 17-year-old suspect, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared in Youth Court on the same day. Both individuals remain in custody as they await their next court dates.
