Toronto chef-camp counsellor, psychologist face sex assault charges

Toronto police have charged a 39-year-old school chef and camp counsellor with multiple sexual offences against a female youth, while separately a Markham psychologist faces similar charges following an alleged incident at his practice.

On Friday, police responded to a call for unknown trouble in the Broadview Avenue and Danforth Avenue area, leading to a sexual assault investigation. It is alleged that Dale Jeisman met the victim through social media in 2024 and between then and July 2026, the victim was sexually and physically assaulted on multiple occasions.

Jeisman, of Toronto, has been charged with sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age, two counts each of assault and sexual assault, and one count of assault by choking. He was employed as a chef at a school in the Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East area and as a summer camp counsellor in the Lawrence Avenue West and Dufferin Street area.

Markham psychologist charged

York Regional Police have charged 61-year-old Markham psychologist Farrokh Sedigh-Deilami following the sexual assault of a youth. On June 29, the victim attended an appointment at a clinic in the area of John Street and Bayview Avenue in Markham. During the appointment, the victim was given a massage and alleges being touched inappropriately. The victim was not physically injured.

On Saturday, after executing a search warrant at a residence in Markham, Sedigh-Deilami was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. Investigators are releasing his image as they believe there may be additional victims. Jewelry theft in Newmarket

York police are also seeking the public's help to identify a suspect in a jewelry theft in Newmarket. On June 1, a suspect entered a jewelry store in the area of Yonge Street and Davis Drive, asked to try on a gold chain, and after putting it on, fled the store on foot, last seen on Davis Drive. The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, with a medium build, short brown hair, and a brown goatee, last seen wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering, black pants, a black-and-white baseball cap, and black-and-white shoes. Second shooting in Hamilton

Hamilton police are seeking witnesses in a second overnight shooting in the Hamilton Mountain's Ryckmans neighbourhood after charging a youth with several firearms-related charges. Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting in the area of Atessa Drive and Rymal Road East. They located several shell casings in front of an Atessa Drive residence; no one was injured. The first shooting had occurred on Tuesday morning at the same residence around 4:30 a.m.

Police say a vehicle of interest was located a short distance away, and the occupant was arrested; a firearm was recovered from the vehicle. A Niagara-area youth has been charged with several firearms offences. Police are actively seeking any potential witnesses and requesting residents or businesses in the immediate neighbourhood to check their security systems for any potential video that may assist the investigation.
