Third Suspect Wanted in Richmond Hill Road-Rage Stabbing

York Regional Police have charged two men with attempted murder and other offenses, while a third suspect remains at large following a stabbing incident that authorities say was fueled by road rage nearly a year ago in Richmond Hill.

Incident Details

On June 21, 2025, officers responded to reports of an ongoing assault at a parking lot near Yonge Street and May Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from stab wounds. The injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

According to police, the victim had been involved in a road rage altercation with another man, who initially left the scene. Shortly afterward, while the victim was at a plaza, the same man returned with two accomplices, and all three began assaulting the victim. During the assault, one of the attackers stabbed the victim.

Arrests and Charges

One suspect was arrested at the scene, while the other two fled. Following a lengthy investigation, police announced on Sunday that a second suspect had been charged. Hamid-Reza Safi-Poor, 54, of Toronto, and Ali Kia, 59, of Markham, each face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and uttering threats. Kia was also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Third Suspect Identified

On Tuesday, police identified the third suspect as 30-year-old Seyed-Houman Mirmoghtadaei, who is wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault. Authorities are urging him to seek legal advice and turn himself in. Investigators warn that anyone assisting him may face criminal charges.
