A man was seriously wounded in what police describe as a targeted drive-by shooting Tuesday evening in the community of Colwood on Vancouver Island.

Shots Fired on Fulton Road

West Shore RCMP officers rushed to the scene on Fulton Road near Betula Place shortly before 8 p.m. on December 24 after receiving multiple reports of gunfire. According to witness accounts, the incident involved occupants of one vehicle firing shots at another vehicle traveling on the road.

The bullets struck the driver of the targeted vehicle, a 34-year-old man. Emergency services transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of what police have confirmed are serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police Investigation Underway

Investigators have stated they believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence. As of the latest update, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.

In an appeal to the public, the West Shore RCMP are asking for assistance from anyone who may have evidence related to the crime. They are specifically seeking individuals who were driving in the Colwood area between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday and may have captured relevant footage on their dash cameras.
