A quiet stretch of Maley Drive in Sudbury became the scene of tragedy this week as local authorities announced charges against a 28-year-old woman following a fatal collision that claimed one life.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service confirmed that emergency responders rushed to the area of Maley Drive near the intersection of Lasalle Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon after reports of a serious motor vehicle collision. Despite life-saving efforts, one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The accused, whose identity remains protected under publication bans, now faces serious charges including:
- Impaired operation of a conveyance causing death
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death
- Operation while over the legal blood alcohol limit causing death
