A tragic incident in Lethbridge has resulted in the death of a 78-year-old man after he was struck by a truck at a city intersection. The driver, identified as 56-year-old Joseph Cameron Brewster of Lethbridge, now faces serious criminal charges that have been upgraded following the victim's passing.

According to the Lethbridge Police Service, the collision occurred just before 4 p.m. on March 3. A Dodge Ram truck was traveling eastbound along 3rd Avenue North when it turned southbound onto 13th Street. During this maneuver, the vehicle struck the elderly pedestrian, causing significant injuries.
The pedestrian was immediately transported to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge with serious head trauma. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to a Calgary hospital for specialized treatment. Tragically, police were notified on Friday that the man had succumbed to his injuries.
