The suspect, identified as James Chak, 18, appeared at the Longueuil courthouse around 3 p.m. on Friday. He remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court on January 27. Police have accused Chak of discharging a firearm during the incident that took place on January 21 near Rome Boulevard in Brossard.
