Whitecaps Tie Galaxy 1-1, Win Streak Ends at Four

The Vancouver Whitecaps saw their club-record four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday night, settling for a 1-1 draw with the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Match Highlights

Mathias Laborda scored the equalizer for Vancouver in the 82nd minute, heading home from close range after Sebastian Berhalter played a free kick from the left side to the back post. The goal capped the scoring for the night.

The Whitecaps (8-1-1) became only the second Major League Soccer team in the post-shootout era (since 2000) to win eight of their first nine games to start a season. However, they were unable to extend their winning run past four matches.
