Sushi the Sweet Playful Dog Ready for Adoption at Toronto

A four-year-old mixed breed dog named Sushi is looking for his forever home at the Toronto Humane Society. Transferred from Montreal a few weeks ago, this energetic and friendly canine is ready to bring joy to an active family.

About Sushi

Sushi is described as a "super cute" and playful dog who enjoys interactive play and outdoor activities. According to Lucas Solowey, spokesperson for the Toronto Humane Society, Sushi is "pretty interactive, fun-loving, he enjoys being out with people and he loves a good game of fetch." He is known for happily returning the ball and has a bouncy, joyful energy during walks.

While Sushi is generally easygoing, he can become excited when encountering other animals such as dogs or cats. Solowey notes that he may need guidance to settle when overstimulated, but with continued training and practice, he is well positioned to improve. His behavior around other animals is manageable, as he can walk nicely and stay calm when given space.

Ideal Home

Sushi would thrive in an active home that can match his energy level. Solowey suggests a family that enjoys walks, hikes, and mental stimulation through puzzle feeders or toys. While there is no history of Sushi living with other pets or small children, his overall good behavior suggests that with slow introductions, he could adapt well. A meet-and-greet is recommended for any prospective home with existing pets or children.

Adoption Process

Those interested in adopting Sushi can visit the Toronto Humane Society website to start the adoption process. Additionally, Noor, an eight-year-old female domestic shorthair mix cat featured in a previous column, is still available for adoption.
