Toronto police have charged a 48-year-old rideshare driver in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in the city. The accused, whose identity has not been released, faces one count of sexual assault.

Police Appeal
“We are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience with this individual to come forward,” said Detective Constable Sarah Thompson of the Toronto Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit. “Your information could be crucial to our investigation.”
The rideshare company involved has been cooperating with police. In a statement, a spokesperson said, “We are appalled by this incident and are fully assisting law enforcement. The driver has been removed from our platform pending the outcome of the investigation.”
