Police seek suspect in downtown hotel break-in

Ottawa police have released security footage and are turning to the public for assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a break-and-enter at a downtown hotel.

Security Camera Captures Intruder

The incident occurred in the 100 block of Kent Street in the early hours of September 29. According to investigators, the suspect was captured by the hotel's security cameras at approximately 3:39 a.m. as he entered the establishment's stock room without authorization.

Police report that the individual proceeded to steal several items of electronics gear before fleeing the scene. The exact value and nature of the stolen property have not been disclosed.

Description of the Suspect

Authorities have provided a physical description of the person of interest in the hope that a member of the public will recognize him. The suspect is described as a tall Caucasian male with a thin build, estimated to be between 25 and 40 years of age.

At the time of the break-in, he was wearing a distinct outfit that included:

  • A black tuque
  • A black jacket over a dark T-shirt featuring white-and-red writing
  • Dark-coloured pants
  • Black-and-white shoes
