Suspect Targets Same Store in Brazen Downtown Robberies
Toronto Police are actively searching for an unidentified female suspect connected to two separate robberies at the same retail store in the city's downtown core. The individual was already wanted for an incident that occurred in March before allegedly striking again at the identical location this past Friday.
Details of the First Incident
The initial robbery took place on March 19 around 9 p.m. in the area of Dundas Street West and Bay Street. According to police reports, the suspect entered a store, selected multiple items, and then left the shopping basket in front of the establishment. When a store employee retrieved the basket, the woman allegedly physically assaulted two employees in an attempt to reclaim it.
The situation escalated when the suspect sprayed the employees with an unknown substance before fleeing the scene with the stolen merchandise. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported from this encounter.
Repeat Offense and Current Investigation
In a concerning repeat offense, the same suspect is believed to have targeted the identical store on Friday, November 7, around 6:45 p.m.. During this latest incident, the female bandit allegedly displayed what appeared to be pepper spray and successfully stole a quantity of merchandise before fleeing the area. Witnesses last saw the suspect walking westbound on Dundas Street.
Police have confirmed that no injuries resulted from the Friday robbery. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify and locate the individual responsible for these crimes.
Suspect Description Released to Public
Law enforcement has provided a detailed description of the wanted individual to assist with public identification. The suspect is described as a female in her 20s, approximately 5-foot-6 tall with a slim to medium build.
Distinguishing features include a tattoo on her finger and a star-shaped tattoo located above her right hip. These identifying marks could prove crucial for members of the public who might recognize the individual.
Toronto Police are urging anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect's identity to come forward and contact authorities immediately. The repeated targeting of the same establishment suggests a pattern that investigators are working to understand and prevent from continuing.
