Charges and Arrest Details

Mohamed Basil Lafir, who police say has no fixed address, now faces multiple criminal charges including:

  • Multiple counts of break-and-enter
  • Sexual assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Committing an indecent act

According to authorities, Lafir was taken into custody without incident after police responded to calls about a man entering homes and exposing himself in the Oshawa area. The suspect remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Timeline of Alleged Attacks

The disturbing sequence of events began when the suspect entered his first target residence. Police reports indicate Lafir exposed himself to residents before being startled by a family dog and fleeing the property.

Undeterred, the alleged perpetrator then targeted a second home on the same street. In this incident, he sexually assaulted the homeowner when she confronted him inside her residence.

The crime spree continued as Lafir entered a third residence, where he allegedly sexually assaulted an older female victim while she was in bed. The suspect ultimately fled this final crime scene through a bedroom window.
