A fatal shooting in Brampton has left one person dead, Peel Regional Police confirmed on Thursday evening.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area around 7:30 p.m. on June 4, 2026. Upon arrival, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is in its early stages, and no arrests have been made. Homicide detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
“We are asking anyone who may have information or video from the area to contact investigators,” said Peel Regional Police spokesperson Const. Sarah Brown. “This is a tragic incident, and we are committed to finding those responsible.”
The shooting marks the latest violent incident in Brampton, a city that has seen a rise in gun-related crimes over the past year. Community leaders have called for increased police presence and anti-violence programs.
