The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has issued a public appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of a 31-year-old Montreal man who has been missing since Christmas Eve. Gerry Ménard was last seen in the early hours of December 24 in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, and his family has expressed deep concern for his safety.
Last Known Sighting and Vehicle Description
Gerry Ménard was last spotted at approximately 2:30 a.m. on December 24 on Plateau Road in the municipality of Adstock, located about 100 kilometres south of Quebec City. Authorities believe he may be travelling in a dark grey Mazda bearing the Ontario licence plate DEX K449.
The SQ has released a detailed physical description of Ménard to aid in the search. He is described as a Black man with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. A distinctive tattoo is present on his right forearm, featuring a triangle on the left side and a circle.
Apparel and Companion at Time of Disappearance
When he was last seen, Ménard was reportedly wearing a blue coat, beige pants, and a yellow tuque (winter hat). He was also accompanied by his dog, described as a black Doberman and German shepherd crossbreed.
The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are currently unclear, prompting a widespread search effort. The SQ is treating the case with urgency due to the length of time he has been missing and the expressed concern from his loved ones.
