Peel Regional Police have launched an international manhunt for a Mississauga man accused of multiple sexual offenses against youth at a Brampton church. Authorities confirm that 24-year-old Christopher Brito De Araujo fled to Brazil on February 2, just one day before investigators became aware of the alleged assaults.
Multiple Serious Charges Filed
The investigation began on February 3 when police received information about alleged sexual assaults at a Brampton church. According to authorities, the suspect served as a youth director leading multiple programs attended by young people at the religious institution.
As a result of their investigation, police have issued warrants for Brito De Araujo's arrest on numerous serious charges including:
- Five counts of sexual assault
- Four counts of sexual exploitation
- One count of sexual interference
- One count of voyeurism
- One count of distributing intimate images without consent
International Flight Complicates Investigation
Police confirmed that Brito De Araujo boarded a flight to Brazil on February 2, effectively fleeing the country before authorities could apprehend him. The timing suggests the suspect may have been aware that allegations were about to surface or had already been made.

Separate Youth Incident in Oshawa
In unrelated law enforcement news from the Greater Toronto Area, Durham Regional Police have charged a 14-year-old male youth following a threatening incident at Harmony Heights Public School in Oshawa.
Police responded to the school on Thursday around 1:55 p.m. after receiving reports of threatening phone calls directed toward students and staff. The school was immediately placed in a hold-and-secure protocol as officers arrived on scene.
After evacuating and thoroughly searching the building, police determined the threat originated from a student at a different school. The 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident and now faces multiple charges including uttering threats, mischief, common nuisance, public mischief, conveying false information, and criminal harassment.
