Mississauga Man Charged with Drug Offences Following High-Value Seizure
Peel Regional Police have laid multiple charges against a 21-year-old Mississauga man after a vehicle collision led to the discovery of drugs with an estimated street value of $200,000. The incident, which occurred on January 9, 2026, around 11 p.m., involved a crash at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Elm Drive.
Details of the Drug Investigation
According to police reports, officers responded to a collision between a black Hyundai Elantra and a black Range Rover Evoque. Witnesses stated that the driver of the Range Rover fled the scene on foot. The Air Support Unit was deployed and tracked the suspect, who was allegedly seen discarding bags while attempting to evade capture.
With assistance from the Canine Unit and Criminal Investigation Bureau, officers arrested the suspect after a brief foot pursuit. The discarded bags were found to contain large quantities of substances believed to be fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
Following the arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at the suspect's Mississauga residence, where they seized additional methamphetamine and currency. The accused, identified as Nitin Malik, 23, faces charges including:
- Failure to stop after an accident
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioids)

In a separate investigation, Hamilton Police have charged a 56-year-old woman following a forensic probe into the alleged embezzlement of funds from a local non-profit organization. The case involves Rygiel Supports for Community Living, a group dedicated to assisting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Allegations and Charges
Between 2021 and 2023, the accused is alleged to have embezzled approximately $72,000 from a fundraising account belonging to the organization. The funds were intended to support community programs and services for vulnerable residents.
Viola Galamini of Hamilton has been charged with:
- Criminal breach of trust
- Fraud over $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Use of a forged document
