Toronto Police have announced the arrest of five men following a series of targeted break-and-enters at commercial properties across the city. The incidents, which occurred over a span of several days, specifically focused on locations housing Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

Charges Laid After String of Break-Ins

According to authorities, the investigation was launched by the 31 Division Major Crime Unit on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The probe centered on three separate commercial break-ins that took place between Friday, January 2, and Tuesday, January 6. Police allege the group's modus operandi was to target businesses containing ATMs for theft.

Search Warrant Executed, Stolen Property Recovered

The investigation progressed rapidly, leading officers to execute a search warrant on Wednesday, January 7. During the execution of the warrant, police successfully located and seized significant evidence. The recovered items included two stolen motor vehicles and one stolen ATM, directly linking the suspects to the crimes.

Following the evidence gathered, investigators identified and subsequently arrested five male suspects. All five individuals, all from Toronto, now face a range of criminal charges.

The Accused and Their Charges

The following individuals have been charged in connection with the break-ins:

Emerson Valdez, 33, faces the most serious array of charges. He is charged with two counts each of break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He also faces three counts of failure to comply with a probation order, and single counts of possession of a break-in instrument and breach of probation.

Nory Jacinto, 54, is charged with one count each of break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

James Rosario, 27, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Jamie Panaga, 33, is charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and one count of possession of a break-in instrument.

Jhon Rosario, 28, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
