Homicide Investigation Underway After Man Found Dead in Central Edmonton
Edmonton Police Service has launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of a deceased man in central Edmonton last Friday. The victim has been identified as Burton Lee Gambler, 42 years old, whose death was officially ruled a homicide following a completed autopsy.

The incident unfolded on November 21, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m. when downtown patrol officers made the grim discovery in the area of 97 Street and 107 Avenue. According to police statements, officers immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation and called in homicide detectives to take over the investigation.
On Tuesday, November 25, medical examiners performed an autopsy that confirmed Gambler's death resulted from homicidal violence.
