Windsor police have taken an accused drug trafficker into custody on two separate occasions over the past three months for serious breaches of his bail conditions, highlighting ongoing challenges within the justice system.
Previous Convictions and Current Charges
The 29-year-old suspect was already on probation for prior convictions related to firearms and drug trafficking when he faced new allegations. Court records show he was found guilty in March 2023 of multiple offenses including possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, assault, and failure to comply with a non-communication order.
As part of his sentencing, the court had prohibited him from possessing any weapons. Despite this history, he was granted bail in October 2024 on fresh charges that included possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of breach of probation, and failure to comply with a release order.
Repeated Bail Violations Lead to Arrests
His bail conditions required him to live with his surety, remain under house arrest, and submit to electronic monitoring. However, bail compliance officers soon discovered he had violated multiple terms of his release.
On September 4, 2025, officers arrested the man in the 2600 block of Howard Avenue, where they discovered he was carrying a concealed knife. He faced new charges including two counts of failing to comply with a release order and one count of breaching probation before being released again under different conditions.
The situation escalated when his surety was also arrested and charged with facilitating a breach of a release order. The accused, identified as Williston, was released on bail again on October 20, 2025.
Latest Arrest and Enforcement Efforts
A renewed investigation in November revealed that Williston had once again breached multiple conditions of his release orders. On November 20, 2025, bail compliance officers arrested him in the 3000 block of Jefferson Boulevard and charged him with two additional counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The enforcement actions were carried out by the Offender Management Unit, a collaborative partnership between Windsor and LaSalle Police Services that specifically monitors high-risk individuals under house arrest, curfew, or electronic monitoring.
This specialized unit operates with support from a Government of Ontario grant as part of the province's comprehensive strategy to strengthen Ontario's bail system and improve public safety.
