Details of the Incidents

According to police, the first assault took place in the early afternoon near a shopping plaza on Highway 7 and Weston Road. The suspect approached a 45-year-old man, made derogatory comments, and then physically assaulted him. The victim sustained minor injuries.

The second incident occurred later that evening in the area of Bathurst Street and Rutherford Road. A 32-year-old woman was approached by the same suspect, who made similar hateful remarks before assaulting her. She was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Suspect Description

Police have released a description of the suspect: a male in his 20s, approximately 5'10" tall with a medium build, last seen wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. He may have been driving a dark-colored sedan.

“We believe these were targeted attacks motivated by hate,” said Constable Laura Nicolle of York Regional Police. “We are urging anyone with information to come forward.”
