Nature of the Crimes

Investigators are seeking information about the suspects' whereabouts, activities, and known associates.
Community Cooperation Key

In a written statement released Thursday, Bell said, “Our success thus far is a direct result of the co-operation and support from community members. We hope that by releasing these photos, community members can provide additional information to help advance our investigations.”
Arrests and Deportations
Police have been investigating extortion cases in Calgary’s South Asian community for over a year. To date, 16 individuals have been charged with a total of 56 charges, and 45 people have been referred to Canada Border Services Agency for deportation. Bell added, “Despite laying charges in a number of cases, we want to emphasize that these investigations remain active and ongoing, and additional assistance from the public is critical. We will not stop until everyone involved in these crimes has been identified and held accountable.”
How the Public Can Help
Anyone with information about the suspects or related incidents is urged to contact the Calgary Police Service or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers. The photo release is part of a broader effort to crack down on extortion crimes and ensure community safety.
