Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 27-year-old Tecumseh man with multiple counts of trespassing and theft following an investigation that began on April 25. Officers responded to a theft complaint at an undisclosed location in Essex County, leading to the arrest.
Charges Filed
The accused faces seven counts of trespassing, five counts of theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime, six counts of credit card theft, and seven counts of unauthorized use of a credit card. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor in July.
Separate Impaired Driving Incidents
In unrelated cases, OPP arrested three drivers for dangerous and impaired driving. A 41-year-old LaSalle man was charged after a single-vehicle collision on April 24 just after 6 p.m. on Ojibway Parkway West between Highway 401 and E.C. Row exits in Windsor. A 69-year-old Kingsville man faces charges following a similar crash in Essex, where police responded to a vehicle in a ditch on County Road 8 near County Road 15 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 24. He was also charged with failure to comply with a demand. A 42-year-old Belle River man was arrested and charged on April 24 after a traffic complaint on County Road 22 near Commercial Boulevard in Lakeshore. No injuries were reported in any of these collisions.
Cannabis-Related Charges
A fourth driver, an 18-year-old Belle River man, was charged under the Cannabis Control Act after a traffic stop on Amy Croft Drive in Lakeshore on April 28. He faces multiple charges including impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of cannabis under 19, driving with cannabis in the vehicle, driving with liquor readily available, failure to surrender a licence, failing to stop at a red light, and having a blood alcohol level above zero as a novice driver.
