A man has been charged in connection with two bank robberies that occurred in Surrey earlier this week, according to police.
On Saturday, shortly before 11 a.m., authorities received reports of a bank robbery near 104 Avenue and King George Boulevard. Police allege the suspect threatened staff, claiming to have a weapon, and fled with cash. No suspect was located at the scene, and no injuries were reported.
On Monday, a second bank robbery was reported near 128 Street and 96th Avenue. In this incident, police again allege the man threatened employees and left with money. Again, no injuries were reported.
Investigators with the Surrey Police Service identified a suspect and arrested him on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Gregory Roca Bates Pedro, 22, was charged with two counts of robbery. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.
