Saskatoon police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred at homes in the Avalon and Queen Elizabeth neighbourhoods over the May long weekend. Authorities believe the incidents are not connected.
First Shooting on Melrose Street
On Saturday, May 16, at approximately 6:50 a.m., police received a report of an unknown man firing a gun at the front of a house in the 2500 block of Melrose Street, located in the Avalon neighbourhood of Saskatoon's east side. According to police, the suspect was driving a dark-coloured car. A minivan was also seen at the scene, and both vehicles fled the area shortly after the shooting.
Second Shooting on Gladmer Crescent
Two days later, on Monday, May 18, at around 2 a.m., police were called to a home in the 100 block of Gladmer Crescent in the neighbouring Queen Elizabeth area. Officers discovered that several bullets had struck the house, damaging the front door. The resident told police that several people were attempting to break into the home at the time of the incident.
No Injuries Reported
Fortunately, no one was injured in either shooting. The Saskatoon Police Service confirmed in a press release that there were no casualties.
Investigation Underway

Authorities continue to search for suspects in both cases, emphasizing that the incidents appear to be unrelated. Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
