Ontario Provincial Police have announced a second arrest in connection with the death of an Ottawa man whose body was discovered in a Perth park in mid-April. Lyna Du, 32, also from Ottawa, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, according to a news release issued on June 10.
Du is currently in custody and was scheduled to appear in court in Perth on Friday, June 12. The charges stem from the homicide of Christo Allison Richards, 34, who was found with life-threatening injuries at Last Duel Park on April 12. Despite being rushed to a regional trauma centre, Richards was later pronounced dead.
Previous Charges and Ongoing Investigation
In May, police charged 46-year-old Michael Lewis of Perth with conspiracy to commit murder. The investigation has also led to the seizure of two firearms from a rural property near Terrace, British Columbia, with assistance from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Two other individuals remain wanted on charges of second-degree murder. Arrest warrants have been issued for Joseph Madore, 34, and Brayton Kennedy, 28, both of Ottawa. The OPP believe Madore may be camping in rural British Columbia, while Kennedy's whereabouts are unknown. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact police immediately.
Details of the Incident
On April 12 at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers from the OPP's Lanark County detachment responded to Last Duel Park in Perth, where they found Richards with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a regional trauma centre but succumbed to his injuries. The investigation remains active, and police continue to seek information from the public.
