Woman Missing from New Glasgow Hospital Left in Unlicensed Vehicle
Police are investigating the disappearance of Jennifer Harris, a 42-year-old woman who went missing from the New Glasgow hospital on Thursday. Authorities say she was transported away from the facility in an unlicensed vehicle.
Harris was last seen at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 8, 2026, at the Aberdeen Hospital. She is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, with brown hair that may have been recently dyed a different color. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants, and white running shoes.
According to Nova Scotia Health, Harris had been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment prior to her disappearance. Staff noticed she was missing during a routine check and immediately alerted security and local police.
Police believe Harris left the hospital voluntarily but in a vehicle that was not properly registered or licensed. The driver of the vehicle has not been identified, and authorities are urging that person to come forward.
“We are concerned for Ms. Harris’s well-being and want to ensure she is safe,” said Constable David MacLeod of the New Glasgow Regional Police. “We are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts or the vehicle involved to contact us immediately.”
The investigation is ongoing, and police are reviewing hospital surveillance footage to identify the vehicle and driver. Harris’s family has been notified and is cooperating with authorities.
Anyone with information is asked to call New Glasgow Regional Police at 902-752-1941 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
