Megyn Kelly Condemns Former Boss Murdoch and GOP War Faction
In a fiery segment on her YouTube show this Tuesday, former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly launched a scathing attack against media mogul Rupert Murdoch and the pro-war wing of the Republican Party. Kelly accused them of actively "goading" former President Donald Trump into military conflict with Iran, highlighting what she sees as a dangerous disregard for the potential consequences.
"He'll Be Dead Soon": Kelly's Stark Rebuke of Murdoch
Directing her ire at her 95-year-old former employer, Kelly declared that Murdoch would be "long gone" before Americans have to face the fallout from any war. "He'll be dead soon," she stated bluntly, referencing Bloomberg News reports that the Australian-born news titan played a role in coaxing Trump toward confrontation with Iran. Kelly painted a picture of Murdoch acting as if American troops were, in her words, "expendable cattle," insulated from the real-world repercussions of conflict.
Senator Graham's Comments Spark Outrage
The segment grew particularly heated when Kelly played a clip of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). In a Sunday interview on Fox News, Graham encouraged Trump to follow through on threats to deploy troops to Iran's Kharg Island, a critical chokepoint for the nation's oil exports. "Keep it up for a few more weeks," Graham said, before controversially invoking the historic Battle of Iwo Jima. "We did Iwo Jima. We can do this. The Marines, my money is always on the Marines."
Kelly was visibly incensed by this comparison. "Unbelievable," she told her audience. "6,821 U.S. service personnel died in the battle for Iwo Jima, 19,217 were wounded. How dare he speak about it so cavalierly?" She continued her rebuke, noting Graham has no children and is "not sending a young son or daughter into battle." Kelly labeled the senator a "bloodthirsty lunatic" for his remarks.
Kelly Applauds Congressional Critic, Asserts Independence
Amid her criticism, Kelly expressed support for Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who had publicly rebuked Graham on social media platform X. Luna accused the senator of treating troops like "expendable cattle," a phrase Kelly echoed in her condemnation of Murdoch's influence.
Concluding her remarks, Kelly emphasized that her perspective was her own, driven by personal conviction rather than external pressure. "There's no agenda pushing me to say one thing or another, anything other than my own opinion," she asserted. "I don't take any foreign money. I don't take any money from the government. I don't owe any favors to anybody in the Trump administration. Nothing. Nothing." This declaration underscored her position as an independent commentator, free from the constraints of her former network affiliations.
