Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She's 'Done' with GOP After Tucker Carlson
Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She's 'Done' with GOP

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Monday announced she is “done” with the Republican Party, which she accused of becoming the “America LAST” party. Her statement followed similar remarks from right-wing commentator and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who said he was done with the GOP after voting Republican his entire life. Carlson called the party “immoral” and asserted it is “not loyal to the United States.”

Greene Echoes Carlson’s Discontent

Greene took to X to express her agreement, writing, “Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party.” She claimed to speak for “A LOT” of people who “are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country.” Like Carlson, Greene made clear she would not be joining the Democratic Party. “But we are DONE with the America LAST Republican Party,” she wrote.

Falling Out with Trump Over Epstein Files

Greene was once a staunch ally of Donald Trump, often seen by his side. However, the two had a falling-out last year over her push to release files related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who had been friends with Trump. Trump, who had previously promised to release those files, instead tried to block them. He called them a “Democrat hoax” and branded Greene a “traitor.”

Greene’s Resignation and Apology

Greene resigned from Congress amid her feud with Trump and the threats she received because of it. She also apologized for her role in what she called “toxic politics” and earlier this year stated that Trump’s MAGA movement “was all a lie.” In April, she appeared with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) on CNN to discuss areas of agreement, such as ending the war in Iran and releasing the Epstein files, and called for “more dialogue” on areas of disagreement.
