Police in Gatineau, Quebec, have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that took place late Thursday night at a strip club on Main Street. The incident, which occurred around 11:30 p.m., resulted in the death of a male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim Identified
The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Jean-Luc Tremblay, a resident of Gatineau. Police have not released further details about his identity pending notification of next of kin.
Investigation Ongoing
According to investigators, the shooting appears to have been targeted. No arrests have been made, and police are appealing to the public for any information or surveillance footage that may assist in the investigation.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots at the establishment, located in the 200 block of Main Street. Upon arrival, they found Tremblay suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services attempted life-saving measures, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The strip club, which has been operating for several years, was closed for the night following the incident. Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting a thorough forensic examination.
