Fox Host's Bold Claim About Trump's Energy Meets Social Media Scrutiny
A Fox News guest host is facing significant pushback on social media after making extravagant claims about President Donald Trump's energy levels and work habits. The controversy emerged after contributor Lisa Boothe, while filling in for Laura Ingraham on "The Ingraham Angle," defended the 79-year-old president against reports of his declining vigor.
Boothe asserted that Trump operates like a machine, claiming he barely sleeps, works around the clock, and constantly engages with the press. Her comments directly contradicted a New York Times report indicating Trump has been holding fewer events, traveling less frequently, and working shorter days since returning to the White House earlier this year.
Documented Instances of Trump's Public Fatigue
Multiple documented incidents appear to contradict Boothe's characterization of Trump as an unstoppable force. During his criminal trial in New York last year, observers noted Trump repeatedly seemed to nod off, though he and his legal team denied these observations.
More recently, a Washington Post analysis revealed Trump spent nearly 20 minutes visibly battling heavy eyelids during an Oval Office meeting earlier this month. Multiple social media users circulated photographs and videos showing the president appearing to sleep during various official functions.
MSNBC host Katy Tur, who covered Trump's 2016 campaign, told The Daily Beast that the president "doesn't have the same amount of energy" and isn't "as coherent as he used to be." She noted his speech has become slower and that he's frequently seen appearing to fall asleep in the Oval Office.
Health Concerns and White House Transparency Issues
The debate over Trump's energy levels occurs against a backdrop of growing health concerns. Last month, the White House announced a hastily scheduled visit to Walter Reed Medical Center for what was described as a "routine yearly checkup" despite the president having undergone his annual physical just six months earlier.
That examination included an MRI that Trump later described as "perfect" on Truth Social. However, neither the president nor White House officials have explained why the additional imaging was necessary, raising questions about transparency regarding the commander-in-chief's health.
Trump has aggressively pushed back against reports suggesting his energy is flagging. In a Truth Social post this week, he acknowledged there "will be a day when I run low on Energy" but insisted that day isn't now, citing his "perfect physical exam" and a "comprehensive cognitive test" that he claims to have "aced."
Critics on social media platform X have highlighted what they see as hypocrisy in Fox News coverage, noting the network frequently labeled President Joe Biden as "sleepy" and "too old" while now portraying the 79-year-old Trump as an indefatigable machine.
