Edmonton Homicide Police Probe Second Death in Hours After Call to 118 Avenue

Edmonton homicide investigators are looking into a second suspicious death that occurred early Wednesday morning following a disturbance at a residence located at 118 Avenue and 47 Street.

Police were responding to an unrelated matter around 6 a.m. when a seriously injured man emerged from the home, followed by another individual. Officers and emergency medical services provided life-saving measures, but the man later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

“The other individual was taken into custody without further incident. The deceased and the arrested person are known to one another. Police are not looking for any other suspects,” stated a release from the Edmonton Police Service late Wednesday.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2026.

This case came just hours after a suspicious death outside a home in the Westmount area. Police responded around 4 a.m. to reports of a man in medical distress near 124 Street and 109 Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a 22-year-old man who was declared dead at the scene.

The homicide section has taken over that investigation as well, with an autopsy pending.
