Community policing efforts

The arrest underscores the importance of community involvement in public safety. Port Moody police regularly release information about wanted individuals through social media and local news outlets, encouraging residents to report sightings.

"We rely on the eyes and ears of the public," Thompson added. "When people pay attention and act responsibly, it makes our city safer for everyone."

The suspect is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing. Police have not released his name pending formal charges.
