The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public's assistance to identify both a suspect and a witness related to an armed robbery that occurred on May 26, 2026, in downtown Edmonton.
Incident Details
Police responded at approximately 3:30 p.m. on May 26 to a report of a robbery at a loading dock near 102 Street and 104 Avenue, according to an EPS news release issued Thursday. A man allegedly reached into a delivery van parked at the loading dock and stole an item, which the driver witnessed. The driver chased the suspect, who then turned around and attempted to stab the driver with a knife before punching him and fleeing.
The 46-year-old driver was taken to the hospital by police with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witness Sought
Investigators believe there may be an unidentified witness who recorded video of the incident. Police do not suspect this individual was involved in the robbery and wish to speak with them solely as a witness. Efforts to identify or locate this witness through other investigative means have been unsuccessful.
