Cedric Jubillar, a Frenchman jailed in a missing body case, has confessed to killing his wife, his lawyer said. The confession was made during the ongoing trial at the courthouse in Albi, southern France.
Confession After Years of Denial
Jubillar, who had previously maintained his innocence, admitted to the murder of his wife Delphine Jubillar, who disappeared in December 2020. The 35-year-old nurse was last seen at the family home in Cagnac-les-Mines. Her body has never been found, leading to a high-profile investigation and trial.
According to his lawyer, the confession came as a shock to the courtroom. “He finally acknowledged the truth. It was a difficult moment for everyone involved,” the lawyer stated.
Trial and Evidence
The trial opened in September 2025, with prosecutors presenting circumstantial evidence including CCTV footage, phone records, and witness testimony. Jubillar had been held in pre-trial detention since 2021. The case has drawn widespread media attention in France, focusing on the lack of a body and the mystery surrounding Delphine’s disappearance.
Jubillar faces life imprisonment if convicted. The trial continues, with the defense now expected to argue mitigating circumstances. Delphine’s family expressed relief at the confession but remain devastated by the loss.
