Calgary's Pawsitive Match Animal Rescue received a surprise last Friday when they took in 16 young cats in rough shape, including three pregnant cats who all gave birth on Mother's Day.
Rescue Overwhelmed with Kittens
The rescue organization, known for its dedication to finding homes for animals in need, was already operating at capacity before this unexpected influx. The three mother cats delivered their litters on Sunday, adding even more kittens to the mix.
Staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the new mothers and their babies received proper care, including medical attention and a safe, quiet space to nurse. The rescue is now seeking donations and foster homes to help manage the increased number of animals.
Pawsitive Match Animal Rescue urges the public to consider adopting or fostering to alleviate the strain on their resources. They also remind pet owners to spay and neuter their animals to prevent unwanted litters.
