Toronto Police Seek Two Suspects in Vehicle Arson
Toronto Police Service is asking for the public's help to identify two suspects wanted in connection with an arson investigation. According to police, on May 6 at approximately 4:42 a.m., officers responded to the area of Don Mills Road and St. Dennis Drive, where it is reported that two individuals poured a liquid onto a victim's vehicle, ignited it, and caused it to burst into flames before fleeing the scene.
The suspects are described as approximately six feet tall, wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying backpacks. Investigators have released images and video of the unidentified suspects in the hope that members of the public will recognize them and come forward.

Four Additional Suspects Charged in Markham Street Robbery
York Regional Police have charged four additional suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred in Markham. On March 25, around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery in the area of 14th Avenue and Birchmount Road. Police say the victim was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects who demanded his satchel. A struggle ensued, and the victim was assaulted. The satchel was stolen, and the suspects fled in a silver sport utility vehicle.
On March 26, one suspect was arrested and charged in connection with the robbery. On Wednesday, investigators executed a search warrant at a Toronto home where another suspect was arrested. On Thursday, investigators executed three additional search warrants at three more Toronto residences, resulting in the arrest of three more suspects.
Merv Williams, 51, of Toronto, is charged with robbery. Iheem Mitchell, 18, of Toronto, is charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence. A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both of Toronto, are charged with robbery and wearing a disguise with intent. Man Charged in Child Luring Investigation
Toronto Police have charged a 37-year-old man in a child luring investigation that began in early 2026. On Wednesday, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant in the area of Gerrard Street East and Main Street. Christopher Thibodeau was arrested. It is alleged that the accused was communicating online with a person under the age of 16 and used the online usernames CT and Crimson. Thibodeau is charged with luring a person under 18 years old, luring a person under 16 years old, invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault, and making, possessing and accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material (three separate charges). Man Accused of Making Threats Against Brampton Schools
A 31-year-old Scarborough man is accused of making threats against three Brampton schools. Peel Regional Police say a secondary school received numerous threatening messages via telephone between Sunday and Tuesday. An investigation revealed that similar threats were directed at another secondary school and an elementary school in Brampton, and that these threatening incidents allegedly involved the same suspect. In cooperation with the school administration, police determined the threats were unfounded. On Tuesday, Bryan Hulme was identified as a suspect and arrested. He is charged with three counts of mischief and one count of uttering threats.
Remains of Man Found in Downsview in 2021 Identified
Toronto Police say human remains found near 30 Carl Hall on Sept. 16, 2021, have been identified as belonging to an Indigenous man named Willard Duval. He was last seen in May 2017 and reported missing in February 2018. A construction crew installing a fence found a human skull in thick brush near the new fence line, and police, under the supervision of the Office of the Chief Coroner, cut back the brush to reveal the skeletal remains of a person. An investigation determined that the death was not suspicious. The examination indicated the unknown man had likely been deceased for several years prior to discovery. Attempts to identify him through conventional techniques initially proved unsuccessful. In 2022, the case was selected for investigation using investigative genetic genealogy (IGG), and a DNA profile was obtained and uploaded to public-facing databases on December 21, 2022. After several months of collaboration, medical imaging records confirmed that Willard Duval was the previously unidentified man. Investigators tracked down his niece and informed her of his passing. His remains were buried with his brother on April 25, 2026.
