Lay's Launches Limited-Edition World Cup Chips with Soccer Stars
Lay's World Cup Chips Feature Soccer Stars on Bags

FIFA World Cup fever continues to make its way into the food industry with the introduction of four limited edition Lay’s potato chip flavors inspired by the cuisines of competing nations. Each flavor features a different famous football face on the bag — and, in Canada’s case, two faces.

Canadian-Made Flavors and Faces

The 100 percent Canadian-made flavors and faces on the new Lay’s bags include:

  • Bacon Poutine flavored chips featuring Richie Laryea and Nathan Saliba from Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team. Taste notes: Rich brown gravy, creamy cheese curds and smoky bacon.
  • Cheese Soufflé flavored chips featuring France’s Thierry Henry. Taste notes: Creamy and sharp toasted cheese.
  • Steak & Chimichurri flavored chips featuring reigning World Cup champion Argentina’s Lionel Messi. Taste notes: Tangy and herby chimichurri and grilled meat.
  • Cheese & Onion flavored chips featuring the U.K.’s David Beckham. Taste notes: Sharp cheddar cheese and savory onion.

All four new Lay’s entries are now available in grocery and retail locations across Canada — the only global market to offer the limited packaging.
